good day
2003-10-29 - 7:55 p.m.

I am so glad I didn’t chicken out and boy was I close.

The lunch made me feel fancy and aware of how clueless I am when it comes to numerous forks and spoons and how to place them afterwards. Thankfully so were the other people at my table so I didn’t feel completely inept. I was sort of proud of myself when I made successful small talk and even a joke that didn’t result in awkward silence. I hate small talk. I didn’t eat much of the fruity chicken or spicy asparagus or hard rice, but there was desert. Oh, there was desert. (see below)

Latrice Curray (newscaster from my favorite local news station) was the emcee and Tanya was super cool and asked her to take a picture with me. She was really friendly and pleasant and she’s going to mention her new friend Amy on the news every day from now on. No, no she won’t, but I was so excited to meet her (as you can tell). I finally met someone famous! Almost. Paul Baris (meteorologist from the same station) was there too but he was never close enough to get a picture of. He’s next on the list.

The dancers were really enjoyable. That is really some tough work for the ones in manual chairs especially. They did a lot of spins and after a while your hands get sore. It actually just hit me that they didn’t wear gloves. Eeesh.
