whirlwind in a thorn tree

Another day with no sun in the sky. Maybe it was the weather that caused my bad mood, maybe the shift in schedule of my Paxil, if it were two days ago I could blame my womanhood…but I was just in a bad mood for no reason. People tell me that everyone deserves a day or two like that, but I’m noticing I’m hearing that phrase a lot more often than I used to.

Today was my best mail day ever. I had forgotten about the sweater and two shirts I had coming, and my gamefly.com games finally arrived as well. My oldest sister and her husband gave me a gamefly.com gift certificate for Christmas and it was a nice thought and everything, but I don’t really recommend laying down any cash for a membership. It took two weeks for them to send me a confirmation number and then another week to get the games. I only have it for a month so it doesn’t really make sense to spend more money and wait longer rather than just going to Blockbuster and renting them. Blockbuster doesn’t look correct. BlockBuster. Block Buster. Now the words don’t even sound like words as I say them in my head. Anyway, I know I sound ungrateful about the gift certificate but really I’m not. I get to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Finding Nemo so that should be fun.

I had a dream last night that involved me, some of my favorite boys, music, and my friend Stephen from school (the one that said I would get Aids from the strange french-fry I ate on our field trip). I have quite a few dreams about Stephen and they always seem to have a touch of…romance about them. We never had romantic feelings for each other or were even the best of friends, but in my dreams we’re always really close. Last night we were in a record store with some friends (Jon included) and the owner was allowing us to take down any of the posters off the wall that we wanted. There was a small poster for Sixpence, which was really just a lot of tiny scribbled drawings by the one and only Damien Rice, but I wanted it. So I began to slowly peel back the piece of tape on the corner and Stephen rushed over to help me avoid ripping the paper. We were so delicate (get the pun, leave a message). Then I woke up to an obnoxious beeping in my ear.
